Tucked away on the outskirts of Forres in the north-western reaches of Speyside, Benromach is a distillery that harks back to an earlier era of Scotch whisky making where character came before conformity.
First established in 1898, Benromach was one of many small distilleries built during the whisky boom at the turn of the 20th century, but its fortunes would rise and fall with the market for much of the next hundred years. It was brought back to life in 1998 by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail, who lovingly restored the site and revived production by hand - eschewing automation in favour of traditional techniques.
Benromach's signature style deliberately breaks from the modern Speyside mould. Distilled slowly, matured in first-fill casks, and lightly peated, the whisky offers a subtle smokiness layered with orchard fruits, malt, and spice, evoking the flavours of Speyside’s past.
Now a firm favourite among whisky lovers looking for classic character and honest craftsmanship, Benromach stands as a proud reminder that tradition still has a powerful place in Scotch whisky.

Long before its revival as a single malt, Benromach’s spirit quietly contributed a touch of smoky depth to classic Scotch blends.
