Dram #1.5: Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength

Hello Dram-Teamers, and welcome to a new blog on our website.

We'll be using this blog to capture a selection of our, and our imbibers, tasting notes on choice drams from our flights of tasting fancy.

First up, we've got a cask-strength highlight from our inaugural "Scotchy scotch scotch" Scottish Whisky Regions box, the 105 from fan-favourite distillery Glenfarclas.

This is the fifth dram in the line up, representing the Speyside region.

Here's our take on this absolute whopper of a whisky:

"Like going over a fruity Niagara Falls in a sherry cask - punchy, with richly spiced plum, toffee apples and wood. Subtle hints of crème pâtissière blended in amongst the honey and deep notes of burnt sugar"

So...what did our launch-day tweet-tasters have to say? Below we've embedded a fantastic set of highlights, but the "Quotable Quaffer " award for this particular whisky goes to Sorren Krebs, of the OCD Whisky blog:

What do you make of Glenfarclas 105? Chime in with your comments below!

Warmest whisky wishes,

Chris, Greg and James
