Day 24 - Glen Scotia Double Cask

Happy Christmas Eve folks!

We've saved one of Chris' personal favourites for Christmas Eve, the Double Cask from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown.

(not up to speed on 25 Days of Drams? Catch up with our introduction and all the days so far here)

Here's Chris talking about what makes today's dram special:

Recap: For each day of the 25 (we're Christmas day drammers here at the Dram Team), I'm going to give a few brief reasons I think each dram is worth your time and attention - which are the same reasons I picked each one to be in our boxes in the first place. And, we're giving away the full set of drams:

Reasons why Chris recommends this whisky:

Reason 1 - Glen Scotia are close in production style to Campbeltown neighbours Springbank, favouring tradition in most aspects of their production and leaning towards very high quality over quantity. Their distillery is also a joy to visit, and we're 99% sure that if you have the good fortune to meet Distillery Manager Iain McAlister, you'll want him to be your Whisky Dad just as much as we did!

Reason 2The Double Cask is a serious competitor for "Best whisky under £40", and a seriously delicious combination of Campbeltown complexity in the form of slight oily salinity and sweet rich flavours of dried fruits, caramel and vanillas. It's a joy!
